What do we do when family leaves?

So the house is quite now and here is what Davis finds to do...

The kiddie pool isn't as much fun all alone...but he makes due

He's getting really good at styling his hair with my blow dryer.  Yes, it is on but it is on the cool setting.

He's addicted to the IPad...I really need to start hiding it but when he says "pa pad peesss" (IPad please) how can I say no...he's so sweet about it.

He loves helping his Daddy do anything!  Even bring the trash cans in.  He's so strong!

We went to the county fair to see the animals...I think this kid belongs on a farm!

A sweet little girl and her grandma walked by and asked Davis if he would like to see/pet their cow.  Of course he ran to see it :-)

He didn't so much want to be up close and personal with the goat we ran into though. hahaha

He's into monkeys right now so we had to stop and see

and of course the day wouldn't be complete without a pony ride.

now back to Davis' activities now that family is gone...

He is CONSTANTLY asking to mop.  I mean, who likes to clean THIS MUCH! Gees!

Davis tells his Daddy constantly to mow (he's pretty demanding)

so we got him his very own toy lawn mower and that thing goes EVERYWHERE with him.

Little does he know, one day this will be his job and he will HATE it! But until then, he can mow his trampoline :0)

He LOVES the play zone at Chic-fil-a.  He even tries to play with every kid in there!  Some are super sweet to him and some just run around like they don't notice him but he doesn't care...he is having a blast and thinks they are laughing and playing with him. :-)

And he gets a hair cut at none other than Great Clips (We miss you Christine George).  He did great with that sucker in his mouth however it was coated in his hair.  How he didn't choke I have no clue but he ate the whole thing!

We just need more family to visit!  Davis misses you guys! (Olsen side and Heath side)

When Family Visits...

We LOVE when family visits.  I talked to my Dad, and I convinced him, my mom and my sister Anna with her two kids to come out for a week long visit!  It was so nice having them around and Davis LOVED every minute of it!

When they got here the kids started playing right off the bat.  Aunt Anna did bubbles and they loved it!

Davis had to show his Pepa his bubble toy

Eloise needed the basketball to shoot some hoops

And Mema held on to Emery...THEN, they needed to swim :-)

Davis showing his "belly flop" skills, those really are his skills

They even got their own water hoses (they were fighting over it so Gary got two out).  Emery looks a little left out but no worries, he had fun splashing in the water.

They watched TV on the air mattress and on top of the stuffed Mickey Mouse,

They jumped (and hugged it out some)

We went to downtown Bentonville to show them the original Wal-mart (the five and dime)

The Store sells old school candies and toys, of course Davis and Eloise got a Mop and Broom - not too old school (thanks to Mema).  They did cleaned the museum floor really well!

After the museum, there is a little truck you can ride for 10c outside the Five and Dime, and the store clerk came out and paid the 10c for them to ride it...as you can imagine, they loved it!

After the truck ride they were needing an ice cream so we ran into the ice cream shop next door...yeah, Davis is wearing a candy necklace...he didn't quite get that he could eat it.

Of course the ice cream didn't cool them off enough, we had to go to the splash pad.  Eloise and Davis had the best time.  Did I mention they had fun?

Emery wasn't such a fan of the splash pad though.

Of course having family over meant Davis got to play with new toys...like a drum and Eloise's crown.

Davis also found enjoyment in jumping from the chair to the air mattress...I'm sure he punctured a hole in it.

Our adventures also consisted of a trip to the park...and again, they had a blast.

The night wouldn't be complete without a stop at the store and Davis pouring a generous amount of  water down his shirt and shorts...Fortunately, Aunt Anna had a shirt in her bag...unfortunately it was Eloise's.

The trip wouldn't be complete without a drive up to Kansas City to see some of the church history sites.  Anna hadn't been so we took the 3 hr drive up.

The visitors center has the best kids area so that was a huge bonus!

A few favorites of Eloise and Davis' are: riding the horse and playing in the little cabin replica

Yeah, they were "making" and "eating" food

Then we drove to Liberty, MO to the visitor center and to see Liberty Jail...Honestly, how cute are these pictures of Eloise, Davis and Emery?  ADORABLE!

On our way home, Davis and Eloise held hands watching Despicable Me.  They were so stinking cute!

The trip came and went WAY TOO fast...until next time I guess.
