Texas Trip

We were fortunate enough to take some time to head out to Texas to see Gary's family.  His sister Missy was blessing her sweet baby Alora so we thought (or Gary did), great excuse for a road trip.  Let me tell ya, I'm not a lover of road trips and especially one that is 12+ hours with a 4 1/2 month old but, Davis was a trooper!

We did stop in Dallas on our way to San Antonio and stay with Gary's old MTC companion, Matt Parker and his super cute family (they have 9 mo old twins - just the cutest babies and NO I didn't take a pic - shoot!)

Before we made it down to San Antonio we stopped off at The Sixth Floor Museum (JFK shooting gallery).  Such a sad museum to walk through - surreal

Of Course we met back up with Matt and Tiffany at Chuys for a little mexican fare!  We LOVE that place and there isn't one in Memphis!

We finally made it to San Antonio (well they live on the outskirts) and met up with Grandma and Grandpa...Davis was smothered with loves but he wasn't minding it one bit!

This is a GREAT picture!

He also had plenty of Daddy time and he was loving it! He always has that hand in his mouth!

While we were there we attended a baby shower for Missy and Alora (Ally), had a birthday dinner for Sterling, his brother, Missy, Dani, Melody and Grandma, sang happy birthday and had cupcakes...it was a fun time.

I didn't get the best picture of Ally - I'm horrible with pictures!  I never remember to take them!
Ally is such a sweet baby!!

Since Gary's parents were wanting a little "Davis time" (or we were hoping :-)) we were able to sneak off to see The Hunger Games.  That was the first movie we have seen together since Davis...
The drive home Sunday was brutal but we made it!

Ole Miss Baseball Game, Swinging and Eating Baby Food!

Gary got a bug and needed to do something "different" on Saturday, so we drove out to Oxford, MS and went to catch some of the Ole Miss baseball game...Davis was of course smiling at everyone around him.  He was really good, although he didn't watch much of the game...maybe one day :-)

The weather has been so nice here in Memphis...so this afternoon after church we decided to go on a little walk

On our way home from the walk we stopped by the park and let him swing a bit...he really loves it!

And lastly...Davis' Dr said we could start him on baby cereal and baby food...well this this kid LOVES fruit (but not so much vegetables)

He keeps us on our toes, that's for sure!

Oh Davis, Oh Davis...

So many things to mention about this little guy...He is constantly making us smile and laugh (and sometimes he laughs along with us) so here are some of our "Davis Days" ...

I've been trying to take pictures of Davis every month to show his growth.  To me, he hasn't changed much from month 3 to month 4 but I'll let you decide:

                                                                      NEWBORN

1 MONTH

2 MONTH

3 MONTH

4 MONTH

Yep he still has that big ole' belly :-)  While I was taking his 4 month pictures he wouldn't be still but and this is what I got:

Lately when I put him in his bouncy seat, he arches his back and does all he can to scoot out of it...

And the times I can get him in the seat...this is the reaction I get

AND, if he's not scooting out or crying he is doing all he can to sit up and fall out!  He is trying so hard to sit up and I have to say he is starting to get the hang of it...resting on his belly :-)

Yes, in a majority of his pictures he is wearing a bib because he is a constant drooler - but almost always with a smile!

He doesn't usually go without clothes but today after one of his many "cat naps" I was changing him (due to all the drool on his onesie) and let him play on the floor...yep he's trying to read already (upside down none the less)!

The weather has been sooo nice lately...we decided to go for a stroll and instead of putting him in his car seat and clipping it to the stroller, we decided to let him ride like a big boy!  He did so good and absolutely LOVED IT!

Our neighbor Melanie stopped by to see if Davis would do a little "modeling" for her...she is selling crochet baby sandals in her store and wanted to see how they looked on a baby.  Well, sorry Davis...these are for girls but you were the closest baby and he actually didn't mind them on his feet...oh if only you were a girl I would definitely buy some! :-)

On our way to the gym we decided to stop by the park to see how Davis would like the swing...at first he wasn't sure until we sat him up closer to the front part, then it was all smiles from there

When Davis takes his naps he has to have blankets by his head to nestle into...I go and check on him constantly because he grabs it and covers his face.  Well this is what I typically find every stinking time (and yes I move it away every time too).

Everyday he makes us smile, I mean how can you not smile at that sweet face! :-)
