Davis' busy little life...

I wanted to update on some of the highlights of Davis' days...  Since we don't have a pool of our own or a community one, Davis thinks this plastic one from Wal-Mart is top notch!  He loves to do belly flops, water the lawn and take breaks on his Cars car.

He also has momma's sweet tooth (unfortunately).  He ate his donut AND MINE!

When he refused to nap and I needed to work, his passy, blanket and IPad was the perfect combo to knock this guy out!

He LOVES to dance to the "bot bot" song (Dance A Lot Robot, it's a little 2 minute blurb between shows on Disney Jr)...once the song is over he is upset and crying for me to rewind.  And of course I do.

Did I mention his sweet tooth?  We had the missionaries over so we made brownies.  Of course he had to lick the spoon.

We went to the pool to celebrate a friend turning 6yrs old and 6 mo (siblings) and they had cupcakes! YUMMMMMMMM

Don't worry, he only ate 3!

He experienced his first movie in the theaters a few weekends ago...Despicable Me 2.  He loves the first one so we thought he might sit through the 2nd one.  We were right!  He did great!  Sat there through the majority of it.  Towards the end he would stand in his seat but he loved it!!  Such a big boy!

We had to hold his seat with our hands during the show or it would fold...never thought he would be too lite for anything! :-)

Did I mention he is "mommas little helper" - so he thinks

He often throws fits and it drives me crazy!  One minute he is going crazy, throwing himself on the floor crying

The next he's sitting on my bed with the IPad smiling...Crazy I tell ya!

He loves his daddy!  Anywhere he goes, Davis has to follow...so while he was mowing Davis decided to watch from the stoop while eating an apple.

Rogers has an Aquatic Center so we decided to check it out...Davis was in water heaven!

In church he thinks he needs to sit "alone" now...but not too far, he still needs me to hand him his snacks.

We go to the park a lot and they have an exercise section that Davis for some reason thought he could tackle...he tried...and failed :-)

He's trying really hard here to pull up :-)

That was exhausting!

One more try!

Of course after nap time it's back to the kiddie pool...Have you ever seen a happier kid?!

That's the highlights of Davis' days...until next time.

Fire Trucks!

We went to check out the Rogers Fire Station (mainly to see the fire trucks) and to learn a little about what firemen do.  Davis was a good sport although he didn't really understand what was being said :-) he sat and listened but LOVED seeing and hearing the actual fire truck!

Davis never quite gets the "smile" for the camera thing.

Away to California we go...

Gary hadn't been home to California in a few years so we decided to fly out and spend a week with his parents and brother.  The downfall to flying from Arkansas is, the flights are super expensive so we opted to drive to Kansas City (3hr away) and fly from there.  MUCH cheaper and the upside is I get to hit up Nordstrom so I guess the 3 hr drive was acceptable :-).  Davis isn't one to nap in the car but he finally gave in which helps with traveling!

On the flight Davis quickly made a friend.  There was a young girl flying alone and Davis thought they were best friends.  She was super sweet to him

Once we made it to California, Davis took no time making himself at home.  We went to church and outside there is a huge fountain and of course Grandma let Davis play in it...as in, submerge himself in it.  Yes, right then and there Grandma became a favorite of Davis'.

Did I mention it was the fountain outside the Oakland Temple...?

He took over the TV once he realized Despicable Me could play on it.

Gary and Scott did a few early morning golf games and they brought home donuts...Davis was in heaven!

And yes, that shirt found its way into the trash...I did not want to wash that after he was through.

Did I mention Grandma and Davis were best friends?  Yes, she would play with him and he LOVED it!

We hit up the Oakland Zoo while we were there and Davis was so excited to be there!  He loves animals and was so cute to watch him get excited every time he saw a different animal

After he "brushed" the goats/sheep we went on a little train ride.  He was such a big boy...he had to sit all by himself.

And we finished the Zoo trip with a ride on the Carousel (2 to be exact...he didn't want to get off)

On the Fourth, we went to the ward breakfast at the park and Davis of course was ready to eat and play

We took time to visit a friend of Gary's and Davis made himself right at home with their kids.  When it was time to leave he couldn't stop hugging them.  It was the cutest thing!

When we stopped by to visit with The Duffy family, Davis wasn't very social but he did help himself to all the toys around...imagine that.

Davis had a favorite spot.  He would sit in this little chair next to Grandpa and watch TV, play the IPad or look at books.  I think it was their bonding time.

Never miss an opportunity to take someones drink!

Yes he had a bottle or two at Grandma's.  and maybe his new thing is to hold your hand while he watches a show on the IPad...this time Uncle Scott was the recipient of the hand holding :-)

And to finish up the trip, we had dinner at Skipolinis. Great little pizza place!!

We had such a great time visiting and look forward to our next trip out there!

Davis rode home from the airport in style with his passy, sunglasses and a DVD full of Wubbzy episodes.  Yes, my kid is addicted to videos - he needs an intervention!
