PLEASE sleep!

Since Davis has learned to crawl, he can't stay on the ground...he is pulling up on everything - one spot being his crib.  Anytime I lay him down (and believe me, he is so tired when I do) he refuses to lay down.  He does an automatic flip to his tummy, to his knees and pulling up on the side of the crib.  I walk out and he breaks in to a hysterical cry every time.  This is really throwing off his sleep schedules and Mommy's!  Needless to say, this was a pic at bedtime...I went to check on him since he was being quite and this is what I found...bad boy!

I'm hoping this faze will pass and we can start sleeping again!  Plus we need "rested" Davis back so we can get more shots like this :-)

Swimming!

Our friends The Rice's had a graduation party for their daughter, Tayzia who just graduated high school (Congrats Tayzia!)...a POOL PARTY!  Our little Davis LOVES the water - so we think.  He loves bath time and is ready to dive in anytime the water is running so I thought for sure he would love the pool.  When we got there we let Davis pose in the cut outs...and he didn't so much like that...not sure why :-)

The weather turned out to be unfavorable on this particular Saturday.  The high was 66* and I didn't think anyone would be swimming.  Well Gary wanted to bring their suits anyway...Like I said my baby loves the water - even if it is cold!!!

He's such a ladies man (Davis that is)

So happy!
Congratulations Tayzia!  So proud of you!!

Christine is getting older!

Well looks like Saturday was a day of parties! We took Davis to a birthday party for his friend Blueberry then that night I went out with the girls to celebrate Christine's big day (a week early but that didn't mater).  We had a great time (as usual) and I had a special treat...my friend Danielle Haines (who is my friend, Val's cousin) was in town for the weekend so we were able to catch up on life as well.

Birthday Party

Davis was invited to his first birthday party!  My friend Lindsay's little boy Christopher (aka blueberry) turned 1 yr old!
Here's the birthday boy!
They had a pool blown up with balls and toys in it for the kids to play in...I thought it was a great way to contain the kids and for them to have fun too!
In true child like fashion, everytime I tried to take a pic of the babies, they would close their eyes or turn their heads

Davis checking it all out

And having a blast
With the heat we quickly moved the party inside where there was lots of food and toys for the kiddos.  We were able to make some new friends (and playdates for Davis!).  The party was great and we were so glad to help Blueberry celebrate his big day!

Thanks Linsday for having us - we had a great time - Happy Birthday Blueberry!

Our baby is growing up!

Davis has hit his 6 month mark!  He weighs 20.85 lb and 28 in.  Such a big boy!! He is constantly on his knees and often moving to his feet.  I say it is his downward dog position (the yoga move).  He has started eating little puffs but hasn't quite mastered eating them...however he never turns down food so he'll get it soon enough.  He loves eating his bananas and makes quite a mess but hey, he's happy!  He drools like crazy so I keep expecting to see a tooth any day now...well  today we did!  For cutting his first tooth I think he did pretty well...no fever and since he still needs to work on his sleep I couldn't tell if he was waking up because he is use to me pacifying him or his tooth.  Either way I'm glad we finally have one!

Nashville Marathon

Last weekend we went to Nashville for the Marathon.  Gary ran the half and our friend Chris ran the full.  We stayed with our friends Chris and Chantelle Duncan for the weekend so Davis was able to get some time in with their girls Katie, Lauren and Brooklyn.  It was a quick trip as usual but we had a great time.
Looking at his book while we waited to see daddy.  We were at the 7 mile mark

He kept his glasses on the whole time we were outside :0)

Chris - did really good!  He ran the full in 3 hrs and 9 min!

We found Daddy!

Daddy stopped to say hi

We met Gary at the finish line and are so proud of him!  I hate running so anyone who runs the marathons are such strong people.
We always love heading to Nashville to visit our friends!  We weren't able to see Jeff, Dana, Grant and little Preston :-( but our next trip we will!  Any excuse to visit Nashville we are there!
