Away to California we go...

Gary hadn't been home to California in a few years so we decided to fly out and spend a week with his parents and brother.  The downfall to flying from Arkansas is, the flights are super expensive so we opted to drive to Kansas City (3hr away) and fly from there.  MUCH cheaper and the upside is I get to hit up Nordstrom so I guess the 3 hr drive was acceptable :-).  Davis isn't one to nap in the car but he finally gave in which helps with traveling!

On the flight Davis quickly made a friend.  There was a young girl flying alone and Davis thought they were best friends.  She was super sweet to him

Once we made it to California, Davis took no time making himself at home.  We went to church and outside there is a huge fountain and of course Grandma let Davis play in it...as in, submerge himself in it.  Yes, right then and there Grandma became a favorite of Davis'.

Did I mention it was the fountain outside the Oakland Temple...?

He took over the TV once he realized Despicable Me could play on it.

Gary and Scott did a few early morning golf games and they brought home donuts...Davis was in heaven!

And yes, that shirt found its way into the trash...I did not want to wash that after he was through.

Did I mention Grandma and Davis were best friends?  Yes, she would play with him and he LOVED it!

We hit up the Oakland Zoo while we were there and Davis was so excited to be there!  He loves animals and was so cute to watch him get excited every time he saw a different animal

After he "brushed" the goats/sheep we went on a little train ride.  He was such a big boy...he had to sit all by himself.

And we finished the Zoo trip with a ride on the Carousel (2 to be exact...he didn't want to get off)

On the Fourth, we went to the ward breakfast at the park and Davis of course was ready to eat and play

We took time to visit a friend of Gary's and Davis made himself right at home with their kids.  When it was time to leave he couldn't stop hugging them.  It was the cutest thing!

When we stopped by to visit with The Duffy family, Davis wasn't very social but he did help himself to all the toys around...imagine that.

Davis had a favorite spot.  He would sit in this little chair next to Grandpa and watch TV, play the IPad or look at books.  I think it was their bonding time.

Never miss an opportunity to take someones drink!

Yes he had a bottle or two at Grandma's.  and maybe his new thing is to hold your hand while he watches a show on the IPad...this time Uncle Scott was the recipient of the hand holding :-)

And to finish up the trip, we had dinner at Skipolinis. Great little pizza place!!

We had such a great time visiting and look forward to our next trip out there!

Davis rode home from the airport in style with his passy, sunglasses and a DVD full of Wubbzy episodes.  Yes, my kid is addicted to videos - he needs an intervention!
