The many loves of Davis

He absolutely LOVES his giant bear...He attacks it anytime he sees it and snuggles up to it as well...

Davis knows a few wrestling moves...

His Mema bought him a swing months back and any mention of swinging gets Davis so excited!  Of course I was eating a Halloween Oreo and Davis felt he needed one too.  Clearly he needs to learn how to keep it IN his mouth :-)

Going into a sugar coma?  Maybe

Well since he has tasted of the good stuff (Oreos) they are now a favorite of his.  Mistake giving it to him in the car?  Probably.  Will I do that again?  No.  Did he enjoy it? ABSOLUTELY!

He never passes up an opportunity to go outside...Daddy and our neighbor John were looking to take a few limbs off one of the trees in our yard and guess who has to be in the mix...?  Yep - Davis! :-)  He LOVE'S being involved :-)

Yep, plopped himself right in the mix of it all
So when we go outside and swing, he sometimes wanders the yard - well this day the neighbors dogs (poodles) were outside and were barking.  He LOVES dogs and will make this high pitch hoot type sound to mimic the dogs.  He just stood at the fence and listened to the barking.  It was cute.  He wouldn't move from that spot :-)

He absolutely loves to look at books and have me and Gary read them to him.  I will look to see what he is doing when it gets quite and he will be concentrating really hard at a book.  Sometimes the book is upside down and sometimes it is right side up but he loves them.  He will bring me a book to read and I"ll start and he will know right away if he likes it or not.  If not he hops down and grabs another and if he likes it I have to read it over and over and over.  His favorite is "Does a Duck Cluck".  A small little $1.00 book from the dollar spot at target.  Best $1 I ever spent but I'm ready for him to move on to another :-)

He loves water (as we all know) and has figured out that the water hose produces water.  In this picture he is wanting to get up to turn the water on.  He has drug the hose out behind him.  Such a big helper (not really).

He keeps me on my toes that's for sure...but how could I not love this silly guy?!

The Battle of Collierville

Gary was wanting to go watch the reenactment of the battle in Collierville.  I THOUGHT it all started at 2 but it all started around 9am and we didn't get there until 2:30 and missed the reenactment.  I felt bad because I thought I was pushing to get there at the right time...WRONG.  Oh well we walked around and checked out a few of the sites that were set up.

Davis was on his WORST behavior (which seems to be his thing these days...tsk tsk).  He wanted to roam free and get in to as much as possible.  I was told there was poison ivy around so I was in freak out mode...I do not want to deal with that if I don't have to.  Needless to say he would show his "sweet" side if we tried to pick him up or steer him in a different direction...He's gonna learn that MOMMA's way is the only way! :-)

He's ready to get down...

He started off good...just checking out the cannon...

Now he is taking off...

Almost took down someones tent

Not happy that Daddy picked him up

and he's off again...

This is what poor Gary had to do the majority of the time :-)

On his adventures out in the open fields he ran into a little girl and her grandfather.  He couldn't pass up the chance to give her a hug.

and he hugged...

and hugged...Gary had to pry him off her.  She was a good sport, letting this random roamer hug her for SOOOOO long. hahaha

Lemonade break - we had to coax him somehow :-)

He is such a big boy - he thinks he can do anything and doesn't understand boundaries.  Of course we laughed at him the majority of the time while trying our hardest to control him (he didn't see our laughing or that would have been encouragement).  Until the next adventure! :-)

11 Months Old

Davis is 11 months old!  Time sure is flying by...I love this little guy more and more every day!  Now, if he would just let me get his monthly pic...

Annndddd he's off

Pumpkin Patch

We took Davis to a Pumpkin Patch a few weekends back and it was so much fun!  We took a hay ride and picked our own pumpkin, Davis road the "kiddie train", and checked out all the pumpkins on display!  I think we will go back next year...
Trying to hula hoop!
